Christopher Collins

Chris Collins

Chris Collins is a master’s level counseling intern at Christian Counseling Services of Arizona, currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. Liberty University’s program blends cutting-edge clinical training with a robust biblical and theological framework. Chris embraces a holistic approach that integrates evidence-based practices with the redemptive power of God’s Word, fostering spiritual formation, emotional resilience, and relational restoration. Chris employs techniques that include tailored interventions that place emphasis on building client strengths, fostering hope, and facilitating encounters with God’s grace through the therapeutic process.

Chris’s therapeutic approach is rooted in integrative Christian counseling, combining the more common models of counseling within a biblical worldview. This approach seeks to “reframe pain through the lens of God’s sovereignty” and promote healing by addressing the multidimensional needs of clients—biological, psychological, social, and spiritual. He is actively training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through the EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs.

Native to Arizona, Chris has been a follower of Christ since his youth and is inspired by a deep calling to partner with God in the healing of broken hearts. He holds two additional master’s degrees from Grand Canyon University, (2018) and one additional master’s degree from Liberty University, (2025). Chris serves in his local church, leading Bible study groups and mentoring young adults. In the counseling room, Chris creates a safe, grace-filled space where clients can explore their stories, process pain, and discover their identity in Christ.

Chris resides in the West Valley, where he is an active member of Christ’s Church of the Valley (CCV) and finds joy in connecting with family, serving his community, and reflecting on God’s creation. Inspired by his love for others, Chris brings a heart for service and a passion for helping clients navigate life’s challenges with faith and resilience.

Chris works under the supervision of Theresa Hay MS, LPC, NCC, an approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. Chris sees clients at our Glendale and our Surprise offices, offering both in-person and online sessions.
